Day 1
To the ski-resort Chimbulak (2400m) the tourists are taken by car, and from Chimbulak to the Talgarsky pass (3163m) by the cable way. The ascent by the cable takes 40 minutes. From that point there is a fine view of the Chkalov peak and Phisculturnic peak. These summits impress people by the glaciers Til’ and Ayak sliding down their slopes. The walking part of the journey begins from this place.
The path leading to the north-east, runs past a small lake, across a shallow mountain river, down the talus, across the slope to the Maly Talgarsky pass (2870m). This walk takes 50 minutes.
The descent from the pass is performed down the steep slope along a winding path through the forest up to the bottom of the ravine. While descending the slope one can observe the wildly rushing waters of the Left Talgar. The camp for the night is set at the estuary of the brook falling into the river. The place of the camping surrounded by the thick coniferous forest is really beautiful.
The first part of the tour is not difficult, the distance covered by tourists during the day is 7-8 km with 1 000 meters’ difference of heights.

Day 2
On the second day, having packed after the breakfast, the tourists are to walk down the path along the Left Talgar river for 30 minutes. At the place where the ravine becomes steeper and narrower the path follows to the eastern slope along which they are to ascent to the Butakovsky pass (2900m). The ascent goes on through the coniferous forest and alpine grasslands, and takes 2 hours.
From the pass there is good view of the Butakovka river. Further on the walk to the upper parts of the river Kim-Asar goes on along the north-eastern slope without much visible ascent.
After that along the right bank of the river Kim-Asar the tourists walk up to the sports complex Medeo (1700m) where there are cars waiting to take them back to the city.
