Singing Dune is one of the main attractions of Altyn Emel Park. It looks like huge sand dune with overall height of 150m and length about 3 km. The ridge of the dune is sharp as a blade. In windy weather is capable of making sound resembling low hum of jet aircraft.

Kaindy Lake with sunken forestAppeared inside a mountain gorge in 1911 after earthquake. The natural dam stopped the flow of the river so it flooded the forest in the depth of canyon. Pine trees still remain inside a lake and resemble a paling above the turquoise water surface. |

Tamgaly Tas is a rocky area on the right bank of the Ili River, 190 km to the north from Almaty. This is part of the Great Silk Road passed thru Kazakhstan. In the early Middle Ages caravans loaded with goods from China crossed the river here. Under the rock massif facing the river you will find majestic ruins of a Buddhist monastery. |
